The Melrose 27X Neighborhood Council is a resident-led organization working to strengthen community, connection, and neighborhood pride in East Oakland’s Melrose district. Rooted in the belief that inclusion, unity, and teamwork help neighborhoods thrive, the council brings neighbors together to address local challenges, build relationships, and create opportunities for collective action.

Through community meetings, neighborhood events, cleanups, public art projects, youth leadership opportunities, and stewardship of spaces like the Melrose Community Garden and Courtland Creek Park, the council is helping residents shape the future of their neighborhood together. Their work demonstrates the power of local leadership and the importance of creating spaces where neighbors can connect, collaborate, and care for the places they call home.
